Accessible Diversity Services Initiative (ADSI) Limited has PBI status with the Australian Taxation Office. This includes endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient making all donations over $2.00 tax deductible.

Our Board is composed of up to eight members. The Chair and seven members are elected by the Annual General Meeting of members for three-year terms. ADSI’s Executive Director is not a member of the Board but attends ex-officio. The Board meets at least three times per year.

Steven Gal, Chair

 

Steven Gal is a senior executive with over 30 years’ experience across the NSW public sector and community organisations. His expertise spans Aboriginal affairs, disability, aged care, youth, migrant health and community services, with a strong focus on governance, risk, finance and performance management.

He served as Director Partnerships and Operations, Aboriginal Affairs within the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet, leading statewide reform initiatives and coordinating cross-government strategies, including the Aboriginal Affairs COVID-19 response. Steven has also held senior leadership roles in Family and Community Services, Ageing Disability and Home Care, and NSW Health.

He holds social work and postgraduate management qualifications and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sarjoh Bah, Non-Executive Director

 

Sarjoh Bah is a dedicated leader supporting governance and strategic oversight to advance inclusion, equity, and social justice for diverse communities. With extensive experience in community engagement and not-for-profit governance, Sarjoh contributes to ADSI’s mission of promoting multicultural access and support for refugees, people with disability, and vulnerable groups. He brings deep commitment to strengthening organisational effectiveness, community partnerships, and culturally responsive services.

Sarjoh holds professional credentials including GAICD and plays a vital role in guiding ADSI’s board as it navigates growth and impact in Western Sydney and beyond.

Hakan Harman, Non-Executive Director

 

Hakan is a highly experienced Non Executive Director and Chair with over 30 years’ board and executive leadership experience, including roles as CEO, COO, CFO, and Company Secretary.

His background spans community services, aged care, governance, human rights, and arts and culture.
He brings strong expertise in finance, strategy, risk, governance, and organisational transformation, with a deep commitment to human rights, diversity, inclusion, and social cohesion.

Hakan has held senior executive roles across the NSW public sector and currently serves on several boards and finance, audit, and risk committees.

Krista O’Sullivan, Non-Executive Director

 

Krista O’Sullivan is an experienced organisational culture and leadership specialist and Director of Uncomplicated Consulting, with more than 20 years’ experience across health, ageing, disability and community sectors. She works with boards and executive teams to strengthen governance, manage risk, and foster healthy workplace cultures through strategic facilitation, conflict resolution and leadership development.

Krista brings deep expertise in safeguarding, complaints management, and regulatory environments, alongside strong stakeholder engagement skills. Her background in supporting vulnerable communities, combined with board experience and a values-driven approach, positions her to contribute thoughtful oversight, strategic clarity and community-centred governance as a Non-Executive Director with ADSI.

Lorraine Salloum, Non-Executive Director

 

Lorraine Salloum GAICD is a seasoned executive and non-executive director with deep expertise in social impact, disability inclusion, and strategic leadership.

She brings extensive board and executive experience across disability, aged care, settlement and community services, and government sectors. Lorraine is Chief Strategy Officer at Seek Lifestyle Group and Founder & CEO of Ability Advocates, an organisation dedicated to transforming inclusion and employment outcomes for people with disabilities. She has held senior leadership roles including People, Performance & Culture Executive at Achieve Australia, and is recognised for her advocacy, governance insight and commitment to equitable outcomes. Lorraine is also an award-winning community leader and speaker.

Hamed Turay, Non-Executive Director

 

Hamed Turay GAICD is an experienced community development leader and Non-Executive Director with a strong commitment to social inclusion and empowerment.

He currently serves as Community Development Team Leader at the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS), where he has led strategic engagement, partnership development, and community capacity-building initiatives for over a decade. Hamed’s core strength lies in advancing culturally responsive programs that support refugees, asylum seekers, and new migrants to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. He brings extensive expertise in governance, stakeholder collaboration, policy development, and strengthening inclusive, resilient communities across diverse multicultural settings.

Tricia Flanagan, Company Secretary

 

Tricia is a highly experienced senior executive with over 30 years in the Commonwealth Government, primarily at the Senior Executive Service level. A qualified Social Worker and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, she brings extensive expertise in governance, regulatory compliance, and community services. Tricia has worked closely with diverse community organisations, including the establishment of the Auburn Migrant Resource Centre and the Migrant Liaison Officers Program. She excels in supporting boards and CEOs, fostering transparent communication, managing risk, and ensuring effective decision-making. Tricia is committed to advancing social justice and inclusion through her work with ADSI.

Joanna Matthew, CEO

 

Joanna Matthew is the Chief Executive Officer of ADSI, bringing extensive leadership across not‑for‑profit, community and association sectors.  Joanna’s global career spans senior roles in aged care, manufacturing, international aid and organisational leadership, with particular strength in strategic transformation and community engagement. She has led national strategy development for libraries in New Zealand and delivered major change projects across education and professional services. Joanna’s volunteer experience includes working with high‑needs children, ESL teaching and counselling roles. Committed to equity, access and social justice, she leads ADSI in expanding impactful, inclusive community services across Sydney.

April Pan, Head of Corporate Services, Deputy CEO

April Pan is Head of Corporate Services and Deputy CEO, a key member of the executive leadership team. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Board, April provides strategic oversight across corporate operations, governance, risk, finance, and organisational performance. With more than two decades of experience in community services, settlement and employment programs, she brings a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and sustainable growth. April plays a pivotal role in strengthening organisational capability, fostering partnerships, and ensuring ADSI continues to deliver high-impact services that empower multicultural and vulnerable communities across Western Sydney.

Ajith Jacob, Head of Client Services

Ajith Jacob is the Head of Client Services at ADSI, overseeing the delivery and quality of all services across the organisation. With extensive experience in community and care services, Ajith is committed to ensuring every client receives responsive, person-centred support tailored to their unique needs. He works closely with clients, families and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen service outcomes, drive continuous improvement, and uphold the highest standards of care. Known for his empathetic leadership and collaborative approach, Ajith plays a pivotal role in enhancing client experience, operational excellence, and the overall impact of ADSI’s services.
