Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS)
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) is an Australian Government funded program to recruit volunteers to visit older people in residential aged care or those in receipt of a Home Care package who are socially isolated. These volunteers provide friendship and companionship through visits either one-on-one or in a small group setting.
We recruit, train and support voluntary visitors from different backgrounds and matches them with residents considering cultural appropriateness, interests, time and others.
By befriending an older person, you can make a positive difference. Senior Australians in aged care are from all social and cultural backgrounds and we encourage all volunteers. To find out more about becoming a volunteer, contact us senior@adsi.org.au
