About ADSI

Objectives

Accessible Diversity Services Initiative Limited (ADSI) is a community based, non-profit organisation established to promote the principles of multiculturalism, access and equity and social justice.

ADSI makes its services available without discrimination to every member of the public which the organisation aims to assist.

ADSI has been established to achieve the following objectives:

To identify and address the needs of the most vulnerable including refugees, migrants and people of CALD background, in order to ensure relief from financial hardship, distress, misfortune, disability and disadvantage of individuals living in Central and Western Sydney.

To provide support services to disadvantaged and marginalised people including refugees, migrants and people of CALD background, by providing assistance and resources that will enable and empower such people to build their capacity and develop skills to maximise their access to social and economic opportunities available in the wider Australian community.

To identify and provide community care and other services for special needs groups such as refugees & migrants, women, families & children, the elderly, the unemployed, people with disabilities, unaccompanied minors (youth), single parents, people who are homeless or at the risk of being homeless, carers and the like.

Service Development and Delivery

  • ADSI will co-ordinate the development and delivery of services for the most vulnerable in Central and Western Sydney through the provision of:
    • Casework;
    • Information and referral services;
    • Group sessions that may include playgroups, support groups, forums, classes, excursions, camps and other activities
    • Community engagement that promotes education, development, inclusion and participation, and the relief of poverty;
    • A centre for the community to utilise on a low-cost/no-cost basis, incorporating facilities such as meeting rooms, sessional office space and providing access to relevant office equipment;
    • An organisational base through which State and/or Commonwealth funded programs can operate to meet the needs of the most vulnerable in Central and Western Sydney with a special focus on CALD and emerging communities.
  • ADSI will identify and advocate for the needs of new, emerging and socially isolated CALD communities, especially those comprising new arrivals with special settlement challenges and needs.
  • As part of its capacity building, ADSI will provide maximum possible management and program support to smaller and emerging CALD communities lacking the necessary service infrastructure to sufficiently meet the needs of their communities.
  • ADSI will ensure that services are developed and delivered in line with a clear, concise and relevant strategic plan, that incorporates and reflects community inputs, State and/or Commonwealth priorities including regional planning, demographic data and any other information deemed necessary to establish the relevant needs for services.
